Michaela Drummond

Cyclist

Biography

I’m 22 years young and have experienced some extraordinary things since I decided to step onto a bike.  I loved from a young age the freedom a bike gave me. Nine years later it’s taken me to many different countries around the world, allowed me to meet some amazing people and shape the person I am today.

I have been a part of the Cycling New Zealand track team for over 4 years while also racing for a crit team in the USA “DNA Pro Cycling Team”. The track was my sole focus during this time with the ultimate goal of making the Olympic Games. This remains my goal but now I am excited to take a new approach and commit to two years on the road. I love both road and track equally and no one ever wants to choose!

I also have many other interests outside of riding! I love having dinner nights with friends and binge-watching Netflix series. I’m currently trying to learn Portuguese as I’m now living in Portugal. I also would love to learn Italian… but one step at a time. I’m currently studying at Massey University where I don’t know exactly what I want to do later on in life but I want to keep building my knowledge while I figure that out.
